校園概覽

The C&MA Shatin Nursery School was opened in October 1983. The school always upholds the mission of paying equal attention to education and care in the love of Christ, and providing a comfortable and hygienic environment for children, so they can be devoted to learning while their physical and mental needs are appropriately cared for and satisfied. In respond to societal needs, the school’s services have become more diverse, with value-added services including the Integrated Programme, occasional child care service, and extended hours service. To fulfill the growth, developmental, and learning needs of children, the school primarily adopts project-based pedagogy, which uses the interests and experiences of children as topics for exploration to enhance their motivation to learn, while cultivating the courage to try, initiative to explore, and the willingness to learn in children. The school also sets up interactive learning corners, so children can learn knowledge in different expects through exploration in person and with the assistance of teachers.

課程特色

The school curriculum is based on the stages of development and growth characteristics of children, taking into account of their life experiences, abilities and interests. The school primarily adopts project-based pedagogy, which uses the interests and experiences of children as topics for exploration to enhance their motivation to learn, while cultivating the courage to try, initiative to explore, and the willingness to learn in children. Also, professional early childhood education teachers utilize creative ideas, games, and establish interactive learning corners to encourage children to grasp foundational knowledge and exploration skills through games and practice.

The school values children’s self-care training, which can build-up their independence and good self-care abilities from an early age. The school also focuses on aesthetic development of children. According to the different abilities and interests of children, teachers use different aesthetic activities to enhance art skills of children, encourage children to draw boldly and construct creative composition, and be happy to express their impression and feelings of life with lines and colors.

The school uses photos, observational analysis, and comprehensive reports to demonstrate the learning outcomes of children, as well as systematically collects children’s works to record their developmental journeys. Parents can understand the growth of their children through the “Children Developmental Journeys Portfolio”, helping children to achieve all-round development.

Two special childcare workers take care of twelve children with special educational needs, who are provided with individual counselling, lifestyle training and social learning, so they can grow happily with other children to achieve integrated education effectively.
